Email Setup

  • How do I set up email on my domain?
Choose an email host (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoho, or your web host), then add their MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records at your DNS provider. Create mailboxes in the host's admin panel.
  • What is an MX record and how does it work?
An MX (Mail Exchange) record tells the internet which servers accept email for your domain. Each MX record has a priority number; lower numbers are tried first.
  • How do I add SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records?
Add each as a TXT record at your DNS provider: SPF at the root, DKIM at a selector hostname from your mail provider, and DMARC at _dmarc. Start DMARC with p=none, then tighten.
  • Why are my emails going to spam?
Most often because SPF, DKIM, or DMARC is missing or misconfigured, or your sending domain has a poor reputation. Fix authentication first, then check content and list hygiene.
  • Can I use my domain email with Gmail?
Yes, you can use Gmail to send and receive email from your domain. You can either set up email forwarding to your Gmail inbox or use Gmail's 'Send mail as' feature to send from your domain address.
  • How do I create a catch-all email address?
A catch-all email address receives all messages sent to any address at your domain that doesn't match an existing mailbox. You create it through your domain registrar or email hosting provider's control panel, usually by setting a default address or enabling a catch-all option.
